A Prayer for Today

“Father God, please help me to see myself and others through Your eyes. Help me love with Your heart as I come into contact with people who are different from me.”

~Our Daily Bread

Today’s Quote on Patience

“No matter how long the delay, the Lord is working in our best interest, even when there’s no visible evidence. In the end, it’s what He wants for us that matters – nothing short of resurrection.”

~Dr. Charles Stanley

Scripture for Reflection: Isaiah 64:4

Today’s Quote on Peace

“Jesus doesn’t promise us a pain-free life. But He does promise that as we trust and rest in Him, we can experience a peace that’s deeper and more satisfying than any escape the world tries to sell us.”

~Adam R. Holz

Scripture for Reflection: John 16:25-33; Philippians 1:4-6

Today’s Quote on Trust

“The Lord is the source of everything we need – physical, material, emotional, and spiritual. By asking Him to provide our basic necessities, we’re acknowledging our complete dependence upon Him and trusting in His sufficient provision for each day.”

~Dr. Charles Stanley

Scripture for Reflection: Matthew 6:9-15; Philippians 4:19

Today’s Quote on Spiritual Growth

“James’ command to consider trials as “all joy” makes no sense unless we see them as opportunities for spiritual growth. Trials are designed by the Lord to test our faith, humility, submission, and values. We can either waste our difficulties by defiantly resisting God or benefit by trusting in and depending on Him.”

~Dr. Charles Stanley

Scripture for Reflection: James 1:2-12

Today’s Quote on Life’s Difficulties

“We’re not promised an easy life, but God uses our trials to accomplish His will. Difficult experiences are given to us for our good, for the benefit of others, and for God’s glory.”

~Dr. Charles Stanley

Scripture for Reflection: Philippians 1:12-20

A Prayer for Today

God, teach me lessons for living so I can stay the course. Give me insight so I can do what You tell me – my whole life one long obedient response. Guide me down the road of your commandments; I love traveling this freeway! Give me an appetite for your words of wisdom, and not for piling loot. Divert my eyes from toys and trinkets, invigorate me on the pilgrim way. Affirm your promises to me – promises made to all who fear you. Deflect the harsh words of my critics – but what you say is always so good. See how hungry I am for for your counsel; preserve my life through your righteous ways!

~Psalm 119:33-40
